Our pigs are very small compared to the usual breeds
but we dont want to give any illusions as to their adult size,
you are not going to get a pig the size of a cat or a rabbit.
We have searched for realy tiny pigs and there
are very few breeds that are truly miniature (under 20 kilos)
in fact the only ones we have found online are called Royal Dandie
, a type of pot belly, and are bred in the USA , they cost over
$3000 each and are not available here.
Our pigs are very similar in size to the "Pennywell Pigs" , but
we think the term "teacup pig" is misleading, there is
no such thing on the planet. Yes when new born our pigs
would fit in a teacup too but they dont stay that small for long.
You might notice there are no photos or descriptions of
adult pigs on the Pennywell site.
We like to be upfront and honest so you know what you are getting.
By around 18 months my pigs will have grown
to about the size of a very fat labrador dog,
about 40 to 45 inches from tail tip to snout
and about 20 to 25 inches high at the shoulder
As for weight we have never weighed one,
pigs are very dense and heavier than they look
but we would guess about 50 to 70 kilos,
they are too heavy for us to lift when full grown.
As the gene pool is very diverse adult size and shape can vary.
This picture will give you a rough idea as to thier adult size
the man being 6 feet tall.
